SWEEPING – Montessori activity for everyday

We have prepared for you a Montessori activity of everyday life, which, if you manage, you will never have a mess at home.

Activity: Sweeping
Area: Practical life exercises
Age: 2.5+
The goal: Coordination of movements, independence, sweeping
Material:
* sweeping utensils: large broom, small whisk, shovel
* bucket with "rubbish": e.g. larger shavings, nut shells, dried orange peels, paper balls, etc.)
* adhesive ring

Demonstration:
The parent and child arrive at the place where they have stored sweeping supplies. The parent will present the necessary material to the child: "Now we will need a large broom, a small whisk, a shovel, a bucket of garbage and a sticker." After the presentation of the material, the sweeping demonstration itself begins. Then, around the middle of the rubbish, he sticks a sticker (adhesive ring) and starts sweeping with a large broom on each side towards the sticker (spinning around). If everything is gathered in a pile, he takes a shovel and a small whisk and puts everything in a bucket. Finally, he peels off the adhesive ring and puts the brooms back in place.

Finally, the question arises:
"Would you like to try it now?"
